Kathryn was born in San Jose, CA. Her family moved to Reno, NV the next year where she has lived since.
At the age of eight she started taking piano lessons from Louis Ronchetti who had also taught her father and uncle when they were young. He was a wonderful Italian man who taught with much enthusiasm and great intensity. She took lessons from him until she graduated from high school. Kathryn received a scholarship from the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated from there with a degree in music.
Raised in a Christian home, Kathryn has always been actively involved in the church. At the age of 12 she started playing for church services and at fifteen she started teaching piano lessons in her home. She has since taught many students who have gone on to become accomplished church pianists.
Kathryn teaches music at a private school in Reno for grades K-12, and has developed a widely acclaimed music program there. Her students perform for many local events and have won numerous awards regionally and internationally. She maintains an active schedule, playing both locally and regionally and encourages her students to be involved musicians. Her main purpose in teaching is to help students develop their musical talents so they can use them to serve the Lord.
She has been blessed with a wonderful husband, Ken, and they have two sons. Together they worship at The Church At Reno.
